XVI CIS-SFP Book Fair: a celebration of reading at all stages

The XVI CIS-SFP Book Fair is here!

The CIS-SFP Book Fair, which will take place between April 27th and 30th, is an initiative that involves all educational stages around a common goal: foster a love of reading.

Pre-School

In the Early Years Foundation Stage and the early years of the PYP, pupils will describe stories through storytelling, including one by Claudia Druy, the author of Paca the llama's diary, as well as narratives brought to life by students from higher year groups.

Primary Education Programme (PEP)

In addition, the programming for PYP students has combined Creative workshops, such as bookmark design, with prompts for reflection and expression, such as the exhibition “What is a book to you?” or the activity “Recommend a book”. Furthermore, the students It will delve into the figure of Federico García Lorca through recitals, tours of his life and work, and various theatrical performances.

The Stage activities will play a prominent role throughout the Fair, with works such as The Magical Tales of Andersen, Platero and I o A certain Quixote.

The students will have the opportunity to participate in Author events how D. Francisco Nuño and D. Juan Carlos García Reyes.

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

At the PAI, the Fair has incorporated proposals of greater academic depth, such as the Theatrical guided tour of the Generation of '27 in Seville, performances focusing on the life and work of Federico García Lorca, and interdisciplinary poetry and narrative recitals. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to develop your creativity with a fun “bookface” activity featuring Lorca’s books.

Baccalaureate

The Baccalaureate students take advantage of the Book Fair to get a first-hand look at the CRAI library.

XXVIII “Don Luis González” Micro-Story Literary Competition” 

As a cross-cutting theme for the entire Fair, the “Don Luis González” micro-story competition allows students to develop their creativity and writing skills around 140th anniversary of the College: 140 words for 140 years.

Sale of recommended books

The Book Fair is completed with a book sales area, which facilitates access to new reading material and strengthens the bond between the educational community and the reading habit.

With initiatives like this, the College reaffirms its commitment to a comprehensive education that places reading as a key tool for the personal and academic development of its students.
