David Shpherd Wildlife Foundation, a wildlife conservation foundation with projects in Africa and Asia, organises an annual art competition for young people aged 4 to 16, who are divided into three different categories: 4 to 7 years old, 8 to 11 years old and 12 to 16 years old. Children and young people can participate as individuals or in groups with the aim of raising awareness about the protection and conservation of wildlife and their natural habitats.
The theme of this year’s 2022 competition was “Forests of Land and Sea”, in which, out of a total of 111 group entries, our K classes won third place in the 4 to 7 years old category with their depiction of the Amazon Rainforest.
For their artistic proposal, the K pupils researched in their Enquiry Unit about nature on how to represent the Amazon Rainforest, applying the monthly motto of teamwork.
The final composition is made using exclusively recycled materials, which the pupils themselves collected, such as egg cartons, bottles and boxes. They then shaped them to represent animals, rivers and plants.
We would like to thank Doña Rocío Campos and Miss Rosie, the teachers of these groups, for their immense help and constant motivation of the students.
The classes received the news live with great joy together with their teachers and Doña Maribel, with whom they celebrated the well-deserved reward for their effort and dedication to this artistic project.
