Technology

In this context, technological and digital skills are acquired at the school in a similar way to language learning. Rather than learning new technologies, children learn with new technologies, using and integrating them naturally in the learning process.
Therefore, in line with the instructions received from their teachers, students use personal computers in class connected to the Internet, as well as other devices, thus allowing them to develop their digital skills and abilities related to searching and processing information and the application of knowledge to real problems and current cases.
At the same time, all classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, which significantly improve teaching and assimilation of knowledge. We were the first school in Spain to use this technology at all levels and in all subjects.
The use of technology in class strengthens eminently practical training, oriented to real life and current times, prioritizing the application of knowledge over memory learning, and an in-depth understanding of the fundamental notions of the superficial accumulation of data.
It also promotes a new way of learning in the classroom, where the teacher's role is not so much to teach but rather encourage students to inquire, learn to discriminate information, reach their own conclusions, and play a more active and key role
An innovative methodology adapted to today's world, and in which our students can enhance their communication, leadership, creativity and teamwork competencies and skills, which are the most sought after in the labour market today.
With this goal in mind, in order to complement or replace notes and textbooks, were are strengthening the use of digital tools such as wikis and blogs, designed and developed by our own departments and teachers, and which are full of videos, maps and interactive graphics, links, and activities for the practical application of knowledge and analysis of information.
These tools promote the development of multiple talents working with different skills in each subject. These activities serve to enhance verbal communication and mathematics, as well as other skills such as spatial, kinaesthetic, intrapersonal (self-knowledge) and interpersonal (social skills) skills.
They also enable more personalized monitoring of individual students. Part of the time previously used for collective presentations is used to support individual needs, allowing students to advance at their own pace, both if they are extremely gifted  and if they have learning difficulties.
The use of technology also favoursa project-oriented approach rather than tasks, particularly interdisciplinary projects in which the barriers between areas of knowledge are broken down, allowing students to discover the interconnections between mathematics, philosophy, anatomy or financial economics.
Lastly, technology is geared very specifically to encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit of our students. In a world exposed to the constant appearance of new disruptive technologies, we do not know which professions will be in most demand, but the most essential skills will be those linked to innovation and entrepreneurship.
We are well aware that the key is not the technology itself but how it is used and teacher training in those skills.
For example, if our students have the opportunity to acquire the fundamentals of robotics, 3D printing and video game technology or to use advanced software design programs, this is because there are teachers who introduce them to those aspects.
Similarly, channels have also been established for better collaboration with parents. Among other tools, we have a Virtual Campus, which enables networking between teachers, families and students, as well as applications as diverse as digital document delivery or notification of student grades.
The web page has also become a means for the school to communicate with the entire educational community. It includes hundreds of news stories and new elements each year, and parents are informed via email of all the latest developments at the school.
