Our school also promotes healthy lifestyles and overcomes the constraints of its location in the historical centre of the city under agreements that allow students to use some of the best sports facilities in the city, such as the San Pablo Sports Complex, the High Performance Centre and the Isla de la Cartuja Rowing and Canoeing Facilities.
We also have the Asahi-Kan sports centre, our own specialized centre with over thirty years of experience in providing Judo and Jiu-Jitsu (self-defence) classes, officially designated as social interest sports for children education by UNESCO. And we have recently installed the first climbing wall in the historic centre of the city.
We also have a dynamic Sports Association that promotes student participation in many local competitions in different sports such as chess, athletics, basketball, sport dancing, football, gymnastics, swimming, skating, running, tennis and yoga, covering - depending on the sport - the under-8, under-10, under-12, under-14 and under-16 categories.
The school also participates in the Mini Olympics, Organized by the Physical Education Department, which promote the values of sport among the 600 primary school children who participate in this event. It also organizes trips and teambuilding activities in different parts of Andalusia for children to practice winter sports ("Winter Sports School" for fifth year primary students), nature activities ("Nature School", for seventh year students) and nautical sports ("Watersports School" for ninth year students).
The Sports Association has twice received the Prize from the Municipal Sports Institute of Seville City Council for its contribution to sports advocacy and promotion. On two other occasions, it has been awarded one of the "Popular Awards" by the Sports Institute of Seville City Council for its special dedication to promoting sports.
In recent years, different five-a-side football teams have excelled at provincial and regional level. The under-16 team was champion of the Autumn Sports Games, Provincial League Champion and Champion of the Historic Centre of Seville League. Furthermore, the student Cristian García was selected by the Spanish National Under-16 team. The under-14 team, meanwhile, was runner-up in Andalusia, Champion of the Autumn Sports Games, runner-up in the Provincial Under-14 League, Champion of the Historic Centre of Seville League, and Champion of the Seville Sports Games. The student Daniel Angus was also selected by the Andalusian five-a-side football team in the under-12 category.
