The school is part of the International Baccalaureate
enlace which includes over 4,000 schools worldwide, where more than 70,000 teachers teach more than one million students around the world.
Our school is the only school in Seville to teach the three programs of this organization: the Primary Education Program (PEP), the Diploma Program (DP) and the Middle Years Program (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The director of our school is the first Spaniard to be a member the most senior governing body of the International Baccalaureate.
International Baccalaureate programs are noted for encouraging students to think critically and to question what they are told, for stimulating their critical engagement with the local and international environment; and, lastly, for their independence with respect to governments and national education systems, allowing it to adopt best practices from a wide variety of educational frameworks and curricula of different countries.
The school's integration in the International Baccalaureate has been strong and fruitful for both parties that a large group of teachers from the school already participate in the global functions of the organization, being accredited to act as visitors, trainers or examiners in some of its programs. The development of these global functions within the IB is enabling a better understanding of the organization's programs and thus more knowledge and tools to improve their implementation. And, most importantly, it is offering them the chance to establish contacts with teachers from other schools and sometimes other countries. This contact fosters synergies and ideas that help them improve the education offered to students.
